On July 17th, Guam Delegate Robert A. Underwood placed a wreath at
Tomb of the Unknowns in memory of the men and women who liberated
Guam 57 years ago. Guam commemorated the Anniversary of the
Liberation of Guam on July 21, 2001. Guam was liberated from 3 years
of Japanese occupation by the United States on July 21, 1944 at the end
of World War II restoring peace to the island.
