Secretary Babbitt to Announce San Carlos Apache
Water Settlement

Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt will be in Phoenix on Tuesday, March 30, 1999, for the signing of the San Carlos Apache Tribe Water rights settlement agreement. The agreement marks the resolution of a significant water rights issue in the State of Arizona.

The settlement resolves the tribe's claim to water rights in the Salt River and portions of the Gila River.
