Subcommittees on Withdrawal of Federal Lands Under FLPMA Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt will testify before a joint oversight hearing held by the House Resources Subcommittee on National Parks and Public Lands, and the House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, Tuesday, March 23, 1999, 10 a.m. in room 1324 Longworth Building. The joint oversight hearing will focus on Secretarial authority under the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), section 204 withdrawals, including the 429,000 acre withdrawal on the Lewis and Clark and Helena National Forest, and the 605, 000 acre withdrawals on the Bureau of Land Management Strip District.
