Secretary Norton Supports Sununu/Wilson ANWR Amendment
"The amendment is consistent with the President's National Energy Policy"

(WASHINGTON) - Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton today expressed support for the Sununu/Wilson Amendment that provides the federal share of new ANWR energy production receipts would go toward two funds: The Renewable Energy Technology Investment Fund and the Royalties Conservation Fund.

"The Sununu/Wilson Amendment is consistent with the President's National Energy Policy," Secretary Norton said. "If passed, federal receipts from environmentally safe energy production on a small portion of ANWR will help explore for new energy technologies for our long-term energy security and help protect our environment for future generations of American families."
