Statement by Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of David Brower. No words here can adequately express our loss, nor the overwhelming influence he and his conservation activism have had on the environment. He was a tremendous force for nature and his accomplishments made him a well-respected visionary. On behalf of the Interior Department, I want to extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to the family."
