
U.S. Department of the InteriorOFFICE OF THE SECRETARY FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 6, 2000 Stephanie Hanna (O) 202/208-6416 DEADLINE FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN RECONCILIATION TESTIMONY EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 14 Assistant Secretary John Berry announced today that the Department of the Interior has extended the comment period by one week for testimony related to the recent reconciliation meetings with Native Hawaiians held in Hawaii during December. The extension period will end on January 14, 2000. Testimony received by January 14, 2000, will be included in the official record of the first part of the reconciliation process. Anyone wishing to submit further testimony should send it to Assistant Secretary John Berry, c/o Document Management Unit, MS-7229 MIB, U.S. Department of the Interior, 1849 C Street NW, Washington, DC, 20240.
