NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN DECEMBER

In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for December:

Security Council

Sergey V. Lavrov (Russian Federation) succeeds A. Peter van Walsum (Netherlands) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Major General Daniel Bastien (France) succeeds Major General Chen Fuyuan (China) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
