SECRETARY-GENERAL SHOCKED BY MASS GRAVE IN COTE D’IVOIRE

Following is the text of a statement issued today by the Office of the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

The Secretary-General is shocked by the discovery of the mass grave of more than 50 victims of post-election violence in the Côte d’Ivoire.

The Secretary-General takes note of the new government’s decision to investigate the heinous crime.
