NEW CHAIRMEN OF UNITED NATIONS SECURITY BODIES IN OCTOBER

In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for October:

Security Council

Martin Andjaba (Namibia) succeeds Moctar Ouane (Mali) as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General Edward G. Anderson (United States) succeeds Air Vice- Marshal John H. Thompson (United Kingdom) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
