SECRETARY-GENERAL CONDEMNS DESTRUCTION OF UN PROPERTY IN AFGHANISTAN

The following statement was issued by the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan on 15 November:

The Secretary-General is distressed about the attacks against United Nations offices in Afghanistan. He condemns the destruction of United Nations property in several locations in Afghanistan on 14 and 15 November.

The Secretary-General reminds the Taliban authorities of their responsibility to protect United Nations property and guarantee the safety of all United Nations personnel.
