GUATEMALAN GOVERNMENT AND URNG TO MEET 30 APRIL 19960430The following statement was originally issued in Spanish on Monday, 29 April, by the United Nations moderator of the peace negotiations between the Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca (URNG):On the basis of contacts held last week, the United Nations moderator has convened the delegations of the Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca (URNG) to a "Petit Comit�" meeting, which will begin in Mexico City on 30 April. In view of the progress achieved so far, the parties have agreed that their aim should be to draft the final text of the agreement on "Socio-economic aspects and the agrarian situation". * *** *
