Hormone Therapy, Natural Approaches to Menopause Highlighted at National Clinical Conference 9/9/2002
From: Natalia Barolin of Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, 202-466-3825 News Advisory: On Wednesday, September 11th, the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), in response to recent news reports on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), is sponsoring a one-day pre-conference featuring presentations on HRT management, alternative treatments, transitioning to menopause, and female sexual dysfunction. Women's Health During Perimenopause and Beyond was developed to bring science-based information about this controversial topic to healthcare providers and their patients, and takes place on the first day of a four-day clinical conference on reproductive health issues sponsored by ARHP. "There is a lot of confusion among healthcare providers and women when it comes to hormones and aging," says Anne Moore, a professor of nursing at Vanderbilt University, and presenter of the Transition into Menopause session. "By learning more about these issues, healthcare providers and the media will gain a better understanding of the public's needs and concerns." Women's Health During Perimenopause and Beyond is the latest in a series of highly respected clinical conferences on women in their second half of life, first launched by ARHP in 1989. This one-day pre-conference is scheduled for September 11th 1 - 5:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency Denver. ARHP's annual meeting, Reproductive Health 2002 will immediately follow. For a press pass and media kit, contact Natalia Barolin, communications coordinator, at 202/466-3825 or e-mail nbarolin@arhp.org. You may also register on site.
