
American Kidney Fund Welcomes New Member to Board of Trustees 8/28/2003
From: Sandra Palmer of the American Kidney Fund, 301-984-6657 ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 28 -- The American Kidney Fund (AKF) has welcomed Joseph M. Scodro to its Board of Trustees. Scodro is Associate University Counsel and Medical Center Attorney for Indiana University in Indianapolis. For two decades he has practiced law in a variety of areas including litigation, healthcare, and environmental law. More recently, Scodro has dealt with an array of legal issues affecting colleges and universities. Before joining Indiana University in 1998, Scodro was a partner at the Indianapolis law firm of Bingham, Summers, Welsh and Spilman (now Bingham McHale). He is a 1979 graduate of Loyola University, Chicago (B.A.) and a 1982 graduate of John Marshall Law School, Chicago (J.D.). "Over the past ten years, I have volunteered for a number of kidney disease nonprofit organizations," Scodro noted. He added, "I became interested in serving the American Kidney Fund, because its programs provide valuable direct assistance to kidney patients in need."
