
National Council on Disability to Release Progress Report 7/22/2003

Quigley of the National Council on Disability, 202-272-2004 or 202-272-2074 TTY News Advisory: The National Council on Disability (NCD) will release its annual report, National Disability Policy: A Progress Report, without ceremony at 10 a.m., July 25. Copies will be available at that time. The report covers the period from December 2001 through December 2002. It reviews federal policy activities by issue area, noting progress where it has occurred and making further recommendations where necessary to the executive and legislative branches of the Federal Government. Issue areas include: disability statistics and research; civil rights; education; health care; long-term services and supports; youth; employment; welfare reform; housing; transportation; assistive technology and telecommunications; international issues; and homeland security.
