New Web Site Highlights Catholic Charities Network, Provides Information on Local Agencies and National Service Center

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 9 -- A new Web site -- catholiccharitiesinfo.org -- provides visitors with easy access to information on the work of the Catholic Charities network, including a state-by-state listing of local Catholic Charities agencies nationwide.

This month, the Web site is highlighting the work of local Catholic Charities agencies that are responding to the immediate and long-term needs of families affected by the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Features of the Web site include: -- Contact information for local Catholic Charities agencies -- Up-to-date on information on issues that are important to the Catholic Charities, including latest news releases from local agencies and Catholic Charities USA, research, letters, and more -- A sign up to receive press release electronically from Catholic Charities USA -- Donation information -- Job announcements -- History of Catholic Charities -- Special features on the Catholic Charities network

For 275 years, local Catholic Charities agencies have been providing a myriad of vital services in their communities, ranging from day care and counseling to food and housing. These 1,640 local agencies and institutions nationwide provide help and create hope for more than 7 million people a year regardless of religious, social, or economic backgrounds.
