WHERE: United States Capitol, Room HC-8 Washington, DC Press Entrance: South Door at New Jersey and Independence Avenues

WHAT: The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) -- the nation's largest advocacy organization dedicated to ending breast cancer -- will hold Congress accountable for its unfinished agenda and demand action before members head home. NBCC will highlight the critical role of advocacy in major breast cancer advances to date and announce two new initiatives to enlist committed advocates and to equip those diagnosed with the tools to advocate for their own quality care. Leading figures in the fight to eradicate breast cancer will speak on important legislative and medical accomplishments and outline the agenda for future breakthroughs.

WHY: Symbols alone will not eradicate breast cancer. Symbols must be backed by a real commitment from Congress and the public to do the substantive work: finding the cause through research, developing the best treatments, and ensuring access to quality care for all patients.

WHO: -- Fran Visco, President, The National Breast Cancer Coalition -- Senator Tom Harkin, (D, IA) -- Representative Anna Eshoo (D, CA) -- Representative Sue Myrick (R, NC) -- Dr. Susan Love, MD, Breast cancer surgeon, author of "Susan Love's Breast Book"
