This year's Science Forum will showcase recent scientific accomplishments, as well as demonstrating EPA's commitment to quality science and highlight the central role of science in environmental decision-making. The Forum will focus on science and innovation to protect health and the environment; delivering science-based information to decision makers; and using science to make a difference. The Tuesday, June 1 afternoon plenary session will feature keynote addresses by both EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt and by the Director of the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy, John Marburger. The American Association for the Advancement of Science will host a session to kick off Forum events on Tuesday morning. Thematic sessions, posters, a product expo and exhibits will be featured. Also highlighted will be the Small Business and Innovation Research projects and the prestigious Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards, recognizing exceptionally high quality research and technological efforts of Agency scientists. Confirmed attendees include key EPA science officials, other members of the scientific and academic communities, interested stakeholders, representatives of several other federal agencies and EPA and Congressional staff. The Science Forum is an ideal opportunity to learn about EPA's work on healthy communities, ecosystems and environmental solutions.
