From: Economic Policy Institute Communications Department, 202-775-8810, sharris@epinet.org, or ncoleman@epinet.org News Advisory: On Wednesday, Jan. 21, the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) will release an analysis of data for all 50 states and the District of Columbia that reveals degradation in the quality of jobs in all but a few states. EPI compares annual pay in industries that have lost jobs lost since the end of the recession (November 2001) to annual pay in the industries that have gained jobs. The report shows that the industries that are growing pay less -- and in some states much less -- than those that have been shedding jobs. The analysis will be posted on EPI's JobWatch ( http://www.jobwatch.org ) site on Wednesday morning, Jan. 21. Michael Ettlinger, EPI's director of the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN), and Jeffrey Chapman, economic analyst, will be available to discuss their findings with journalists on two news conference calls at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Eastern time.
