From: Michelle Bazie of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 202-408-1080 or bazie@cbpp.org WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 -- The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Brecher as an Analyst with the State Fiscal Project. Brecher arrives after a two-year stint at the lobbying firm Capitol Associates, where he specialized in biomedical research. Also a former Policy Analyst for the Concord Coalition, a bipartisan organization dedicated to fiscal responsibility at the federal level, Brecher will focus on the impact of federal policies on state budgets. "I am delighted that I have the opportunity to investigate the role that the federal government plays in this ongoing state fiscal crisis," Brecher said. "States have had a tough enough time balancing their budgets and meeting their citizens' needs without the federal government erecting barriers and imposing unfunded mandates on them." Brecher earned his Masters in Public Policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in June 2001. Married this past October, he and his wife live in Arlington, VA. |
