Details: Dr. Steven Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA), will present the results of a new nationwide PIPA/Knowledge Networks poll examining American attitudes on the war with Iraq. PIPA carries out research on public attitudes on international issues by conducting nationwide polls, focus groups and comprehensive reviews of polling conducted by other organizations. Dr. Kull is a political psychologist specializing in the study of public and elite attitudes on public policy issues and the principal investigator of numerous in-depth studies of public opinion. Dr. Kull has been interviewed on the News Hour, CNN, NBC, BBC, NPR, the PBS series "Great Decisions," Canada AM, Al Jazeera, C-SPAN, the award-winning documentary "Faces of the Enemy" and other radio and TV news programs. He regularly gives briefings for Congress, the State Department, NATO, the UN and the EU. He is the co-author (with I.M. Destler) of Misreading the Public, The Myth of a New Isolationism (Brookings 1999) He was on the research team of the recent poll of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations and the German Marshall Fund. His articles have appeared in Foreign Policy, Harper's, Public Opinion Quarterly, The Washington Post and The Christian Science Monitor.
