Crutcher says he is also skeptical that the ban will ever see the light of day anyway. He claims that the Republican Party will keep the partial-birth abortion issue alive because it gives pro-abortion politicians a skirt to hide behind.

"Anytime a radical pro-abortion Republican wants to appear moderate and reasonable to the voter, he or she talks about supporting a ban on partial-birth abortion. The whole thing is a sham and if you want a good example of what I'm talking about just look at Texas Senator Kay Baily Hutchinson. She's been running this shell-game for years."
