GREENBELT, Md., Jan. 13 -- On Dec. 30, the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement to Global Science & Technology Inc. (GST) through a competitive GSA procurement. The three-year contract, valued at $27 million, calls for development and sustaining engineering of Earth Science Enterprise (ESE) data systems, for technical support as part of strategic planning for the evolution of ESE data systems, and for program support of NASA Headquarters' Earth Science Technology Office (ESTO). The contract allows GST to continue work that the company has been performing for NASA since 1998.

For ESE data systems, GST software and systems engineers will continue to develop and enhance the Earth Observing Clearinghouse system, known as ECHO. GST will also provide the continued development and sustaining engineering of the EOS Data Gateway and its extension to interact with ECHO. Activities include system requirements definition and analysis; system design; development; and testing, hardware engineering, and planning; and technical management.

For ESTO, GST will provide technology development coordination services, project analysis and assurance services, programming and database support, and community outreach planning and coordination.
