Talk Show Host/Foreign Policy Analyst Says Anti-Semitic Wildfire Could Sweep Europe in Wake of French Vote 4/22/2002
From: Andy Martin, 866-706-2639, e-mail andy@andymartin.com Web site: http://www.andymartin.com/ NEW YORK, April 22 -- Florida talk show host and foreign policy analyst Andy Martin, the only American talk radio host who supports Palestinian rights, will hold a forum on the Internet Thursday, April 25 to discuss whether the French presidential vote heralds an "anti-Semitic wildfire in Europe." "A holocaust denier running second in France has to be Israel's worst nightmare," says Martin. "And Ariel Sharon was the 'campaign manager' for LePen. The rise of European rightists is directly attributable to Ariel Sharon. He has legitimized anti-Semitism. Europe was smoldering; Sharon lit the match at Jenin. "Jenin will go down in history as Israel's worst defeat. If you believe Israeli numbers, they killed fifty people, mostly civilians. Where are the dead Palestinian freedom fighters? Israel lost 23 soldiers to accomplish this victory? Because reservists were killed, Sharon's domestic problems are exacerbated. "What Sharon gains in Congress he loses in Europe. America is an important 'ally,' for now, but Europe is a more important Israeli trading partner. Not only is Sharon driving anti-Semitism, he is pushing all European politics to the right. Germany votes soon; a rightist tide may continue. "The other campaign manager for anti-Semitism in Europe is President Bush. His flaccid treatment of Sharon engendered disgust. American weapons were used to commit atrocities against civilians, while Europeans served as human shields for Palestinians. "My forum debates these momentous developments and acts as a wake-up call to Washington: Stop rubber-stamping Sharon. This is especially crucial at a time when the Sharon/Netanyahu 'axis of evil' schemes to exile Arafat, a maneuver that will create worldwide revulsion. There is only one way to peace: immediate Israeli withdrawal from Palestine and immediate American recognition of Palestinian nationhood. "Otherwise, Israelis could be banned from Europe and Israel embargoed by the EU. Today, European socialists are rushing to the front of the new parade which is strutting down the Champs Elyssee," says Martin. Martin's forums have become the fulcrum of foreign policy analysis on the Internet. He has traveled through the Middle East; his foreign experience includes Europe, Iran and Asia. Martin has been an adjunct professor of law and is a foreign policy consultant in the areas of military security and intelligence; he studied under the late Bernard Fall, was an assistant to U.S. Senator Paul H. Douglas and founded the Revolutionary War Research Center. Martin's radio program, heard Monday-Friday over WPBR-AM, West Palm Beach, covers Florida issues from noon-1 p.m. and foreign policy from 1-2 p.m. |
