Following the bipartisan letters from the House and Senate to President Bush, patients will lend their voices to ask the President to lift the current restrictions placed on federally funded embryonic stem cell research, which could benefit 100 million Americans. 137 nationally-recognized patient groups, universities and scientific societies from across the U.S. signed a letter (to be released at the press conference) urging the President to expand the current policy and help find cures and treatments for some of life's most debilitations, diseases and conditions.

-- Daphne Thomas (physician and mother of daughter with Rett Syndrome)
