Reps. Tom Davis, Frank Wolf, and James Moran Join Wolf Trap in Celebrating One-Year Anniversary of Center for Education at Wolf Trap, Thursday, May 27, at 10:45 a.m.

Members of Cultural, Business, and Political Community Gather at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap to Listen to Congressmen Davis, Wolf, Moran, and Wolf Trap Foundation President and CEO, Terrence Jones, Speak to the Importance of Arts and Education Funding; and Will Participate in a Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts' Child/Adult Demonstration Workshop

WHAT:

-- One-year anniversary of the Center for Education at Wolf Trap - a non-profit, national, arts-in-education resource center for children, parents, educators and performing artists. The Center is the new home of Wolf Trap's nationally and internationally acclaimed education programs which provide lifelong learning opportunities through the arts. It also houses the renowned Wolf Trap Opera Company and the Wolf Trap Foundation's administrative staff.

-- Formal announcement of nearly $200,000 in funding Wolf Trap's education programs have received in the FY 2004 Federal Budget, to provide educational services to preschool children ages 3 to 5, and to conduct active research into arts and education program development and student achievement. Congressmen Davis, Wolf, and Moran were instrumental in securing this funding.

10:45 a.m.: Introduction and welcome by Terrence D. Jones, president and CEO, Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

10:50 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.: Demonstration of Wolf Trap Institute Workshop for three-to-five year-old children AND members of the audience. Kwame Ansah Brew and Kofi Dennis will conduct the workshop, "Journey to Africa: Sharing Family Experiences," which introduces many exciting ways to adapt songs, rituals, and activities from other cultures to every family's daily routine.
