
Former FCC Public Affairs Director, Justice Project Director Join D.C. Public Affairs Firm, M&R Strategic Services 2/23/2004

Founded in 1991, M&R provides communications, direct mail, Internet advocacy, lobbying, media relations, research and strategic planning for both non-profit groups and corporate clients out of its offices in D.C., Albany, New York City; Portland, Ore.; and Missoula, Mont. In addition, M&R maintains relationships with experienced political operatives in 40 states. "We're thrilled that Liz and Peter are joining the M&R team," said M&R President Bill Wasserman. "Together, they bring a wealth of campaign, media relations and political management experience." Before her tenure as FCC Public Affairs Director, Rose was the Media Director for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum during its development and opening. She also was the Press Secretary for Sen. John D. Rockefeller, IV (D-W.Va.) and U.S. Rep. Thomas J. Downey (D-N.Y.). Prior to that, Rose worked in the office of public affairs of the Labor Department specializing in wage and hour and women's issues. She was a media relations consultant to NARAL Pro-Choice America for four years, including its media outreach on the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Rose has worked with Consumers' Union on media strategy on broadcast ownership. Rose has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has been an Adjunct Professor in the School of Communications at American University. The Minneapolis native previously worked at M&R in 1999. Prior to his service as Director of The Justice Project, Loge was the Director of the Campaign for Criminal Justice Reform, the leading national advocacy group working on death penalty reform and the federal Innocence Protection Act. He also has been a senior staff member in both the U.S. House and Senate, most recently as Chief of Staff to U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.). Loge also worked for Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and former U.S. Rep. Sam Coppersmith (D-Ariz.), whom he made the first Member of Congress with a presence on the Internet. He was also a Regional Field Director at the Concord Coalition and has advised issue campaigns and candidates at all levels. The New Haven native earned a B.S. in Speech from Emerson College, an M.S. in Speech from Syracuse University and a M.A. in Political Science from Arizona State and is an Instructor at George Washington University.
