Flu season has begun and with it an increasing amount of medications have become available to the public. Osteopathic physicians (D.O.s) can provide consumers with information about how to avoid the flu. Key issues include, but are not limited to:

-- Safety

-- Patient Requests

-- Efficiency

Physician sources include:

-- Geraldine T. O'Shea, D.O.; board certified in family medicine; member of the American Osteopathic Association Committee on Public Health and Research.

-- James E. Zini, D.O.; board certified in family medicine; past president of the American Osteopathic Association; former member of the Federation of State Medical Boards, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review, and the American Osteopathic Association representative to the Center for Disease Control.

-- Roberta Ann Wattleworth, D.O.; board certified in family medicine; member of the American Osteopathic Association Committee on Public Health and Research; chairperson and associate professor of the Department of Family Medicine at the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center, Iowa.
