Yet many women aren't even aware they have the disease. Diabetes can be especially hard on women and can affect both mothers and their unborn children. Women with diabetes are also more likely to have a heart attack, and at a younger age. On Monday, May 20th, the National Women & Diabetes Town Hall meeting will bring together participants from both the public and private sector to: -- Educate women about their risk for diabetes with both prevention and management approaches. -- Showcase national and community resources for women & diabetes. -- Provide accurate, up-to-date diabetes information across the life-span of women.
