Herman Reininga Joins National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing

WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 -- The National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) is pleased to announce the addition of Herman (Herm) Reininga, formerly of Rockwell Collins, as the new Vice Chair of the NACFAM Advanced Manufacturing Leadership Council. As Vice Chair, Reininga will work with the Council Chairman and Members to strengthen and advance NACFAM's policy and research priorities through increased contact with industry and government leaders.

"I look forward to this great opportunity at NACFAM," states Reininga. "I will be working with an impressive group of individuals on the Council and an exciting agenda for 2004."

Reininga, also a corporate officer of Rockwell Collins, most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations, responsible for global production and material operations, including manufacturing, material, quality, and facilities and manufacturing activities. Reininga joined the company in 1965, serving as Operations CTPD and Director of Production Operations prior to his most recent position. Reininga is a member of National Academies Board on Manufacturing and Engineering as well as IMTI, ATI, NCAT, and AIA.

The Advanced Manufacturing Leadership Council is a group of senior executives from over 50 organizations strongly committed to productivity growth. The Leadership Council is a national network of leaders from business, universities, community colleges, federal labs and manufacturing extension centers who guide the NACFAM policy, research and strategic agenda. The Council meets twice a year and sets overall policy priorities.

The Council is giving high priority to increasing federal investment in manufacturing-related R&D; tax incentives for capital investment, technical training and collaborative R&D; technical assistance to smaller suppliers; and software interoperability.
