
Secretary Evans, Gov. Ridge to Lead National Homeland Security Expo; Companies from 36 States to Showcase Homeland Security Wares 9/18/2002

The expo, hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce in association with the Office of Homeland Security, will provide an opportunity for federal procurement officers, state homeland security advisors, law enforcement officials, Congressional members and staff, and others to learn more about the products currently being developed to strengthen the defense of our nation. "Winning the war on terrorism is crucial to our economy," said Commerce Secretary Don Evans. "The American technology and enterprise at the Homeland Security Expo will play an important role in ensuring national security, homeland security and economic security." Over 300 exhibit booths will be on-hand to showcase products such as speech-to-text conversion technology, advanced hot suits, data integrity, and mobile decontaminate showers. Breakout session topics include communications, intelligence community technology, first responder technology, disaster recovery solutions, state and local homeland security technology issues & solutions, and funding opportunities for research and development efforts.
