
PCMA Appoints Missy Jenkins Vice President, Federal Affairs 6/23/2003

Jenkins will report directly to PCMA President & Chief Executive Officer Mark Merritt. "Missy Jenkins is a real 'Top Gun'," said PCMA President & CEO Mark Merritt in announcing the appointment. "She has held some of the biggest health-related jobs on Capitol Hill and in Washington's lobbying community. Her arrival is just one more sign that PCMA is taking a bold new approach to addressing our industry's challenges in the advocacy world." Jenkins brings a diverse and distinguished record of legislative, policy, and corporate expertise to PCMA. In the legislative arena, Jenkins served as Health Policy Advisor to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich from 1994-1999, where she played a pivotal role on a number of important domestic policy issues, including the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), Patients' Bill of Rights, and tobacco-related issues. In addition, she served in the Minority Whip leadership office of former Wyoming Senator Alan Simpson. In the corporate arena, she has served in senior government affairs positions at the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America and the US Chamber of Commerce. Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Clemson University. PCMA represents pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and their health care partners in pharmaceutical care.
