Jackson will be joined by Sodexho USA, and NAFEO President & CEO Lezli Baskerville to launch The National Equity Center. WHAT: In recognition of the 40th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the attached press release announces the launch of The National Equity Center (NEC). The NEC's goal is to complete the work of Brown v. Board of Education and the Civil Rights Act by preparing a new generation of social justice and civil rights advocates. The NEC seeks to accomplish this by providing summer training opportunities, internships, and research opportunities in civil rights for high school students, college students, law and graduate students as well as teachers. The NEC will focus on disparities in education, housing, economic empowerment and criminal justice.
