
Energy Secretary Abraham to Tour DOE Labs in California, Announce Science Education Initiative 7/6/2004
From: Joe Davis of the U.S. Department of Energy, 202-586-4940 News Advisory: U.S. Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham will visit four Department of Energy laboratories this week. On Wednesday afternoon, July 7, Secretary Abraham will tour the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. On Thursday morning, July 8, Secretary Abraham will visit the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) and make remarks to lab researchers where he will announce the department's science education initiative involving the department's labs. On Thursday afternoon he will tour the Combustion Research Facility, Sandia National Laboratories' California facility. He will also visit and tour the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Computing Simulation Facility, tour the National Ignition Facility and present employee awards. The SLAC and Livermore Lab events are open to the press.
