ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- "All Children Need Children's Hospitals," a traveling exhibition of the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI), will be on display from July 27 through July 29 in the Seville Foyer of the InterContinental Hotel-Chicago. The hours of the exhibit are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Monday and until 12 p.m. on Tuesday. The hotel address is 505 Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Admission is free.

"All Children Need Children's Hospitals" depicts the mission of children's hospitals through compelling photographs. Children's hospitals benefit all children through: high quality clinical care - acute and primary; training the nation's pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists; pediatric research to advance life saving treatments and cures; and advocating public health protections for children. The children, family, physicians, nurses and hospital staff depicted in the exhibition's 50 photographs convey the essence of children's hospitals' vital service and commitment to all children.

From Chelsie who is living with HIV and being treated at St. Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri to Ryan with his mother after open-heart surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, the photographs capture moments in time, yet collectively illustrate how children's hospitals provide compassionate, personal care day after day to children all over the country.

Thirty-three children's hospitals submitted photographs for the 2003 Children's Hospitals Photo Exhibit. Fifty photographs were selected for the exhibit, including photos submitted by Chicago hospitals Children's Memorial Hospital, La Rabida Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Of those fifty, ten were identified by a panel of judges for special designation. The winning, first-place photograph this year is from De Vos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI of a child named Dustin "being brave." 2003 marks the 10th year of the Children's Hospitals Photo Exhibit, a biennial exhibit which will travel to children's hospitals and other organizations across the country after its debut on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
