
Sea-Air-Space Exposition Features Latest in Defense and Homeland Security Technologies, Systems 4/2/2004

Sea-Air-Space is the world's largest and most renowned maritime exposition, featuring the leaders in the defense industry showcasing their latest defense, homeland security, maritime, aviation, and space technologies and products to an audience of senior military and government officials. This year's exposition will highlight more than 100 exhibits featuring the latest in weapons systems, homeland security, and transformational technologies. Special emphasis will be placed on next generation systems and technology that will be used in future combat operations, as well as some of the systems used in Operation Iraqi Freedom. For example, Boeing and partners CFM International, GE Aircraft Engines, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Smiths Aerospace are planning to exhibit the Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) console simulator. Raytheon will exhibit the Tomahawk cruise missile, Paveway laser guided bombs, and the Joint Standoff Weapons which were all used in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the standard missile-3 interceptor for the sea-based Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense system. Many other exhibits will also focus on the U.S. Navy's next generation of ships, such as the DD (X) and Littoral Combat Ships. Confirmed to participate in this year's exposition are some of the nation's top military leaders including Secretary of the Navy Gordon England; Vice Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace, USMC; Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark, USN; Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition John Young; Vice Adm. Timothy Keating, USN, Director, Joint Staff; Vice Adm. Thad Allen, USCG, Chief of Staff; Deputy Commandant, Programs and Resources Lt. Gen. Robert Magnus, USMC; Director of Port Security Rear Adm.
