When: Tuesday, Feb. 12 9-9:30 a.m. Where: U.S. Capitol Building, Room HC8 Why: The results of the "Roadmap to Tax Reform" project demonstrate that the long-term strength and stability of the U.S. economy depend on fundamental tax reform. Authors of the studies have investigated such topics as how taxes impact savings and investment, health care, privacy, Social Security, international competitiveness, and family income. A day-long Capitol Hill briefing will take place after the press conference, which members of the media also can attend. The first panel -- from 10-11:30 a.m. -- will examine the context for tax reform; the luncheon -- from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. -- will feature former chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means (RSVP required); the second panel -- from 1:15-2:45 p.m. -- will look at the economics of tax reform; and, the third panel -- from 3-4:30 p.m. -- will explore the benefits to society of tax reform.
