The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) is opening the doors on Thursday June 10, 2004, to its new state-of- the-art training center, the ASGE Interactive Training and Technology (IT&T) Center to the media. The IT&T Center hosts the most comprehensive GI training for nurses and physicians in the mid-west.

The IT&T Center is a fully-functioning ex-vivo training laboratory that garners the world's most renowned gastroenterologists and endoscopists to serve as faculty for the hands-on training to colleagues and other medical professionals. The latest GI medical devices and technology are housed in the Center at 8 fully-equipped training stations. By attending the Open House, you will see first hand this equipment and gain insight into how GI physicians are trained.

The latest ASGE research released during Digestive Disease Week (May 16-20, 2004) in New Orleans will also be discussed during the event.

GI physicians Dr. Christopher Gostout, Mayo Clinic; Dr. Grace Elta, University of Michigan, Dr. Douglas Nelson, VA Medical Center, and Dr. Irving Waxman, University of Chicago are just a few of the experts who will be on hand to meet with journalists and provide on-the-spot interviews about the latest developments in GI healthcare.
