News Advisory:

Handgun Free-America will protest against American Enterprise Institute Scholar John Lott and his alleged fictitious research tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 26, at AEI's annual dinner at 5:30 p.m. at the Washington Hilton. John Lott, a senior fellow at AEI, has been accused of falsifying research about concealed carry of guns for his book, "More Guns, Less Crime." This research and John Lott's lobbying efforts have been used to justify passing concealed carry laws in states throughout the country, which now pose a danger to millions of Americans.

Lott is accused of fabricating a key survey that his book was based upon and then lying about it. According to many recent news stories, Lott has also stooped so low as to answer his critics on the Internet under the pseudonym Mary Rosh, posing as "an ex-student," a scared, defenseless woman, and an unbiased consumer of his research.

"The American Enterprise Institute continues to lose credibility every day from its association with this 'academic' and his questionable research. Will AEI continue to support John Lott?" Chris McGrath, executive director, asked today.

WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 26, 5:30 p.m.

WHAT: Protest against John Lott/AEI

WHERE: Washington Hilton Hotel 1919 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. Dupont Circle Metro
