
Institute for Public Relations Elects Three Prominent New Trustees 9/24/2003

The announcement was made today by Jack Felton, president and CEO of IPR. Newly appointed to the IPR Board are Bradley D. Allen, vice president of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for Imation; R. Jeep Bryant, managing director and Global Head of Corporate Communications for The Bank of New York; and Michael Morley, Deputy Chairman of Edelman. Bradley D. Allen is vice president of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for Imation, a company spun-off from 3M and a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of removable data storage media. With more than a decade of high-tech investor relations experience, Allen is responsible for Imation's investor relations as well as all corporate communications, public relations, marketing communications, government relations, internal communications, community affairs, advertising, brand development, and corporate market development. Prior to his role at Imation, Bradley Allen held the senior investor relations position at Cray Research, which was acquired by Silicon Graphics. He previously headed the investor relations function at Digital Equipment Corporation in Massachusetts. Allen served as chairman of the National Investor Relations Institute, and was a founding editorial board member for Investor Relations Quarterly. He holds a BA from Ohio State University, a Masters degree in Journalism from Boston University, and a Masters degree in Finance from Boston College. R. Jeep Bryant brings extensive experience in corporate communications, financial services and journalism to the IPR Board. He is currently managing director and global head of corporate communications at the Bank of New York, the oldest banking firm in the United States and an international leader in securities servicing. Prior to joining the Bank of New York in 2003, Bryant served as senior vice president and director of corporate communications at the PNC Financial Services Group, where he created the internal communications and public relations strategy for the launch of a new corporate brand. From 1989 to 1999 he held key management positions within the corporate communications function at First Union (now Wachovia Corp.) during a period of significant growth and change. Bryant holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Michael Morley is deputy chairman of Edelman, the world's largest independent public relations firm. An officer of the company since 1967 when he started up the firm's first overseas office in London, Morley was later named president of Edelman's International Operations and established Edelman offices throughout Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. From 1995 to 1998 Morley was president of Edelman's New York office. Morley has managed multi-national PR programs for companies that include United Parcel Service, VISA International, British Airways, Ernst & Young, Hoffmann-La Roche, Schering Plough, Warner Lambert, and Hertz Corporation. His extensive international experience includes counseling the European Democratic Party in two European Parliament Election campaigns; participating in Edelman's successful Concorde landing rights program and the Airbus 300 anti-protectionism program; and counseling Finland's FinnFacts Institute. In 1978 he was made a Knight First Class, Order of the Lion of the Republic of Finland by President Kekkonen. Before joining Edelman, Morley served as an officer in the Royal Artillery, and served as director of a British PR firm.
