CHADD Launches Redesigned Web Site; Design Provides State-of-the- Art Information on All Facets of AD/HD 3/15/2002
From: Peg Nichols of CHADD, 301-306-7070, ext.102 LANDOVER, Md., March 15 -- CHADD, the nation's leading advocacy organization serving those with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), has announced a comprehensive redesign of its award-winning Web site. The new site goes live Friday, March 15, 2002 at http://www.chadd.org/. "CHADD's Web site redesign reiterates our dedication to providing members and the public alike with important information about AD/HD," said E. Clarke Ross, chief executive officer of CHADD. "Millions of visitors rely on us for science-based, evidence-based information on all facets of the disorder and the new design allows us to do this in an even more effective and efficient manner." The new design supports CHADD's mission of improving the lives of people affected by AD/HD through: Collaborative Leadership, Advocacy, Research, Education and Support, and complements the organization's bi-monthly publication, Attention!(r) magazine, which was completely redesigned last October. The Web site redesign took several months to complete and incorporates the recommendations, feedback and ideas offered by CHADD's membership and others with AD/HD. In addition to extensive visual enhancements, overall content has been updated and organized for easier navigation. Areas of particular expansion are Public Policy, Membership, About Us, Donations and the Press Room. Other special features include: -- "Pop-up" menus for quick access to specific information; -- A 15-second "Flash" introduction about the organization (accessible only with "Flash Plug-in" capabilities); -- Ability to directly e-mail a page (or pages) to others; and -- Device at the bottom of each page for instant e-mail feedback (e.g., questions, suggestions, etc.) to the CHADD Webmaster. The CHADD Web site currently receives more than one million hits each month with an increase anticipated as a result of the redesign. In December 2001, CHADD was named by Family Life magazine as "the smartest Web site" for information on AD/HD. With over 22,000 members and 200 affiliates nationwide, CHADD works to improve the lives of people affected by AD/HD through collaborative leadership, advocacy, research, education and support: CHADD CARES.
