DIVE INTO NOAA'S NEW OCEAN EXPLORATION WEB PAGE

June 1, 2001 — NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration is making it easy for underwater explorers to journey beneath the water's surface and not get wet. "The new Web page will allow explorers, scientists, and students to come along with us as we discover new ocean regions, investigate unknown ocean ecosystems and discover new forms of ocean life," said Scott Gudes, NOAA's acting under secretary for oceans and atmosphere. Visitors to the site will be able to follow the daily logs of scientists and explorers, download images, sounds, or movies from the latest expeditions, or investigate the Office of Ocean Exploration library.

The site was created to provide scientists, educators, the media and explorers with the latest information on NOAA's major ocean exploration activities.

Contributing to the site will be marine scientists, resource managers, educators, students, historians, artists, musicians, authors, policy makers, and others.
