TROPICAL STORM FABIAN MOVING WESTWARD (See the NOAA National Hurricane Center for the latest information on this storm. Aug. 29, 2003 � The NOAA National Hurricane Center in Miami, Fla., reports that at 11 a.m. EDT the center of Tropical Storm Fabian was located near latitude 15.5 north, longitude 43.7 west or about 1,175 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Fabian has decreased in forward speed and now is moving toward the west near 16 mph. This motion is expected to continue during the next 24 hours. Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph with higher gusts. Fabian has the potential to become a hurricane during the next day or two. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 85 miles from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb, 29.44 inches.
