TROPICAL DEPRESSION SIX WEAKENS TO A TROPICAL WAVE

July 21, 2003 � The NOAA National Hurricane Center in Miami, Fla., reports that at 5 p.m. EDT Tropical Depression Six weakened to a tropical wave located over the far eastern Caribbean Sea and adjacent islands of the Lesser Antilles. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible in association with this tropical wave.

The tropical storm watch for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands was discontinued at 5 p.m. EDT. The tropical storm warning for Dominica, and the tropical storm watch for St. Lucia were discontinued at 2 p.m. EDT. (Click NOAA tracking map for larger view of Tropical Depression Six.)
