WEAK DEPRESSION EDOUARD EXITS THE FLORIDA PENINSULA

September 5, 2002 — At 11 a.m. EDT, the center of Tropical Depression Edouard was located near latitude 28.7 north, longitude 83.0 west or about 30 miles south of Cedar Key, Fla. The depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 8 mph. A west-southwest or westward motion is expected over the next 24 hours, according to NOAA’s National Hurricane Center. Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 24 hours.
