
NOAA PHOTOS OF STATEN ISLAND GASOLINE BARGE EXPLOSION February 24, 2003 — A NOAA oil spill expert was dispatched Friday to the scene of a gasoline barge explosion at a Staten Island, N.Y., storage facility. Please credit “NOAA.”) Ed Levine, a scientific support coordinator with the NOAA Office of Response and Restoration, flew in a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter at around 3:30 p.m. to survey the situation.
