Statement by Tommy G. Thompson
Secretary of Health and Human Services
Regarding Award-Winning Documentary on Organ Donation

"No Greater Love," the HHS-funded PBS documentary created to raise America's awareness of the critical need for organ and tissue donors, has won both a national Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and a Freddie Award from MediMedia USA in the category of community service. There were 11 nominees in the Emmy category and five for the Freddie.

We are thrilled with this outstanding recognition and acknowledgement of our efforts to increase donation. These awards underscore the urgency of donation, and at the same time offer hope to the more than 83,000 Americans now on the national waiting list.

I also extend congratulations to Banyan Communications, producer of "No Greater Love," whose commitment, hard work and vision helped make this film possible.
