Child magazine editor addresses region's first annual women's and children's health care conference

Cleveland:. Karen Cicero, a senior editor at Child magazine, will be among the keynote speakers this Thursday, April 21st at the First Annual Women's and Children's Health Care Conference, Shaping the Future of Women's and Children's Health.

The conference, sponsored by University Hospitals of Cleveland's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and MacDonald Women's Hospital is the first conference of its kind in the region and is geared to an audience of health care providers including nurses, social workers, therapists and child development specialists.

Cicero, as senior editor of Child magazine, covers children's health and nutrition and oversees all of the magazine's rating stories, including the immensely popular "The 10 Best Children's Hospitals." She is also a freelance writer for Prevention, Glamour and Self magazines. Child magazine is a national parenting publication with a circulation of more than one million readers.

Other speakers at the conference include: Dr. Lolita McDavid, Medical Director of Child Advocacy and Protection at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital; Tamara Lucas Copeland, President of Voices for America's Children and Dr. Bernadette M. Melnyk, Dean of Arizona State University's School of Nursing.
