National Academies advisory: Release of Coeur d'Alene superfund report

Superfund and mining megasites: Lessons from Coeur d'Alene river basin, a new report from the National Academies' National Research Council, examines the scientific soundness of decisions made by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency about risks to human health and the environment at a Superfund site in northern Idaho and Washington that is contaminated by years of mining for lead and other metals. A telephone news conference will be held on July 14 to release the report, and a public briefing will be held in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on July 15.
