New initiative gives patients easier access to AJR articles
The American Journal of Roentgenology (AJR) is now part of patientINFORM (www.patientinform.org), a free online service that provides patients and their caregivers access to some of the most up-to-date information available about the diagnosis and treatment of specific diseases.
Selected AJR articles will be accessible through the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association Web sites.
The link to the AJR article will be followed by commentary discussing the significance, strengths and limitations of the new study and the relevance it has for treatment and self-care. "This is an important new initiative for the AJR," said Robert J. Stanley, MD, AJR editor-in-chief. "Patients are turning to the Internet for health care information. This initiative will help ensure that they are getting appropriate information from credible sources," he said.
