ARVO annual meeting features over 6,000 presentations

Rockville, Md. – More than 9,000 eye and vision researchers will gather to attend the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2005 Annual Meeting to be held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., May 1-5, 2005.

The world's premier eye and vision research meeting, the ARVO 2005 Annual Meeting will feature keynote speakers Dr. Elias A. Zerhouni, Director of the National Institutes of Health, and Dr. Peter Agre, Nobel Laureate. Over 100 vision-related companies will be exhibiting at the event, many demonstrating state-of-the-art technology.

The Annual Meeting will include over 6,000 paper and poster presentations. In addition, special recognition awards will be presented during the five-day meeting including:

ARVO is a 77-year-old membership organization of more than 11,200 eye and vision researchers from over 70 countries.
